Ward 2 Council Member, Finance Committee Chair, and mayoral candidate Jack Evans will speak at the June joint neighborhood education meeting on Saturday, June 15. Evans will address the city's commitment to neighborhood schools and libraries, the renovation of Garrison Elementary, and the feeder system, as well as take questions.

The meeting will take place at the Luther Place Church (1226 Vermont Ave NW) on Thomas Circle across from the Plaza Hotel. Doors open at 9:30. Meeting begins at 10. There will be coffee and a light breakfast.

Come out and meet your elected representatives, learn about issues that impact your community and get to know your fellow families and neighbors better. Kids are welcome! Logan Circle Citizens Association provides free child care in the church nursery-- right next to the meeting room.

What is the Monthly Neighborhood Education Meeting?

Elected representatives on Advisory Neighborhood Commissions (ANCs) 2F and 2B, the Logan Circle Community Association (LCCA) and the Dupont Circle Citizens Association (DCCA) have teamed up to sponsor a joint monthly meeting on education. We understand that ward, ANC, neighborhood association, school and other boundaries overlap and interconnect, so a broad invitation is extended. Meetings are held on Saturday mornings to allow greater participation by familiesand others who may not be able to attend weeknight meetings.

Founded in 1922 in a townhouse at 1767 P Street, to promote and protect the interests of the residents, the Dupont Circle Citizens Association (DCCA) is the premier civic and residential organization in the Dupont Circle area. DCCA brings neighbors, including residents, businesses and non-profit organizations, together to improve the quality of life in an active and diverse urban neighborhood. It holds membership meetings nine times each year, which are open to the public, organizes the Dupont Circle House Tour, resolves neighborhood issues through its committees, donates to local causes, and incubates innovative projects.
