Recital for the Benefit of Charlie's Place

THEODORE GUERRANT, organist of St. Margaret's will present a recital in honor of the 25th anniversary of Charlie's Place.  This gorgeous evening of music and song, entitled "Romantic Sentiments" will highlight works by Alfred J. Silver, Sigfrid Karg-Elert and William Wolstenholme, Theodore Dubois, Leon Boellmann, Percy Whitlock, and Felix Borowski and will include numerous opportunities for the audience to lift our voices in song! 

The concert will be dedicated to the Glory of God and in loving memory of the Charleston Nine, of Captain and Mrs. Basil Victor Hewes, and to honor the 100th anniversary of the Lewis & Hitchcock Organ Company."

 

Free-will donations to Charlie's Place will be collected at the door and a wine and dessert reception follows the performance -- Hope to see you there!

 

For 25 years, Charlie's Place, located at 1830 Connecticut Avenue, NW, has helped our hungry and homeless neighbors in Dupont Circle through nutritious meals, health care, job and housing support, family re-unification programs, clothing, haircuts and so much more.  We have served over 300,000 meals since opening our doors in 1990 and we invite you to join us for this celebration of our 25th anniversary.

Founded in 1922 in a townhouse at 1767 P Street, to promote and protect the interests of the residents, the Dupont Circle Citizens Association (DCCA) is the premier civic and residential organization in the Dupont Circle area.  DCCA brings neighbors, including residents, businesses and non-profit organizations, together to improve the quality of life in an active and diverse urban neighborhood. It holds membership meetings nine times each year, which are open to the public, organizes the Dupont Circle House Tour, resolves neighborhood issues through its committees, donates to local causes, and incubates innovative projects.
